Hellenic Bank, a key player in Cyprus's financial landscape since 1976, set out on an exciting journey to transform its corporate website. The mission was to boost its digital presence and position itself as a modern, customer-centric bank.

Hellenic Bank partnered with Significa to lead this transformative project, focusing on enhancing user experience. The aim was to expand digital functionalities to meet diverse customer needs, simplify navigation, and present Hellenic Bank as a forward-thinking alternative to traditional banks.

Our objective was to understand the user through in-depth UX research, and we therefore undertook insightful stakeholder interviews. This groundwork allowed us to identify target audiences and design a thoughtful Information Architecture (IA) shifting our focus from purely business goals to a more user-centric approach. We meticulously identified and categorized our target audiences, creating a clear hierarchy of information that guides users effortlessly.

Our enhancements focused on:

  • Breaking down content into digestible chunks, making it easy to scan and highlight key points.
  • Neatly categorized products, allowing users to compare options in just two clicks.
  • Bringing calculators directly onto relevant product pages, ensuring easy access where it’s needed most.
  • New user-friendly menu features direct action buttons for quick navigation, making it a breeze for users to find exactly what they’re looking for.


Improving forms and wizards. The new forms guide users through the process in clear and concise steps. They provide all the information required to complete the process quickly, whilst also allowing users to make informed decisions along the way.

By addressing the unique needs of different target audiences, we ensured that every page is a helpful guide, allowing users to navigate intuitively and discover the information they seek. Strategic interlinking directs users to related content, enhancing their overall journey.

This refreshed user experience not only adds functionality but also revitalizes the bank's visual identity. The new website has received a warm welcome, driving higher engagement, lowering bounce rates, and increasing online sales all while cutting operational costs.

During the design phase, we embraced a collaborative ideation process, engaging UX Researchers, Interaction Designers, and Hellenic Bank stakeholders in constructive dialogue. This synergy sparked innovative ideas, leading to the creation of wireframes that incorporate essential design features.

Our new visual approach emanates simplicity and clarity, enhancing user interactions and focusing on elements that truly matter. We chose typography that is easy on the eyes, ensuring a smooth reading experience across digital screens. This fresh visual identity gives the Hellenic Bank a modern, inviting presence.

Optimizing digital potential for both users and Hellenic bank

To enhance user experience, we developed a suite of technological solutions. Our tools include user-friendly calculators, intuitive wizards for opening new accounts, and accessible online forms for contact and appointment requests. We also integrated the corporate website with the online banking platform, enabling users to perform essential transactions, like obtaining digital signatures and managing their online banking credentials, seamlessly.

Regarding our software solution, we selected Sitecore to deliver an advanced and user-friendly experience. This leading digital experience platform is both secure and easy to navigate, allowing us to connect smoothly with the bank's systems and provide a comprehensive experience tailored to user needs.

Hosted on Microsoft Azure PAS (Platform as a Service), our website is managed through Azure DevOps. This setup gives administrators enhanced control over content publishing, streamlining the process and reducing errors.

The redesign gave Hellenic Bank's digital presence a vibrant boost. With a fresh User Interface (UI) and a super intuitive user experience, discovering the bank online has never been simpler. Plus, our enhancements have ramped up their Search Engine Optimization (SEO), making it easier for users to connect.

The results are Impressive. Online sales skyrocketed thanks to clear and engaging product presentations, while branch operational costs dropped significantly. With powerful digital tools, users can easily find what they need on their own, reducing the demand for support services.

Finally, the streamlined management system has not only cut down on content maintenance costs but also minimized errors, delivering an effortless experience for everyone.
