At Significa, we continue our sponsorship of ASPiRE, the aerospace research team of the University of Western Macedonia. As a leading student-led team in aerospace and rocketry engineering, ASPiRE designs and builds high-performance rockets, competing in prestigious European challenges with rigorous technical standards.

From the success of Solaris to Project Daedalus

In 2025, the team competed in the EuRoC competition, where their rocket Solaris successfully reached its target altitude, marking a flawless flight. This achievement was capped by winning the Payload Award, following the successful launch of an innovative biomedical experiment designed to study retinal detachment under high-acceleration conditions.

This year, ASPiRE is evolving its research through their ambitious new project, the Daedalus rocket, which will compete in the same European challenge.
